Deborah Willis Tonight

debwillis Still reeling from the fact that the Michael Pollan thing at Brown last week was filled to capacity by the time I had a chance to get there, I might show up to tonight’s Deb Willis lecture at RISD a little early, just to be on the safe side.

Willis is a fine art photographer, but also one of the leading curators of African-American photography and culture.  Her books include The Black Female Body: A Photographic History (with Carla Williams) and her curated exhibitions include the 2006 group exhibition Engulfed By Katrina: Photographs Before And After The Storm.

She’s speaking at the RISD auditorium at 7.
