Kafe Lila — vegan, gluten free

For those of you looking for great vegan options, Kafe Lila is a locally-owned cafe in the Grant building on Main Street in Pawtucket. In addition to sandwiches — try the butternut squash — they have coffee, espresso, cold-brewed iced coffee, baked goods, homemade ice cream, and many vegetarian and vegan options on the menu with an emphasis on local, organic, and sustainable ingredients. I’m a big fan of the vegan carrot cake — even though I’m not vegan. Their banana bread is better than momma’s home cookin’ — as I’m a momma and it’s better than mine. Their turkey sandwich will leave you yearning for Thanksgiving again. And the ham melt — le sigh.

Open Monday 7am to 2pm, Tuesday through Friday 7am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm, cash only

  1. im always on a Gluten Free diet. i really hate my allergy to gluten because i love the taste of wheat bread. oh well, you just got to live with it.

  2. oh man.. the breakfast sandwiches at Lila are amazing..Best iced coffee in RI too.

  3. It’s more of a breakfast and lunch kind of place. I just noticed the other day they are now selling breakfast sandwiches! It doesn’t need to be a quick lunch, either. There are plenty of comfy chairs and couches to sit around shoot the breeze or just read a nice book.

  4. Is this place good for dinner or is it more for grabbing a quick sandwich at lunch? Thanks ahead of time.
