Callers Return To Providence

Brooklyn’s Callers create minimal, jazzy plink-plonk folk with gorgeous vocals that remind me of an indier Norah Jones but with dark, tormented (and interesting) song writing. On their beautiful but brief “In Blighted Gold” a classical descending guitar is the only accompaniment under stormy and romantic singing, while on the bright and seemingly cheery “Rone” the lyrics reveal a tempestuous relationship in its last throes as the music swells to a gentle crescendo. Caller’s delicate heartbreak folk will even have tough dudes wanting to stay in, drink a box of white wine and cry. Callers, short films from Amil Byleckie, Human Beast @ White Electric 7pm prompt! $3 *Saturday Night*
