People always get all worked up about St. Patrick’s Day, but this month is also notable for two other ethnic holidays, which revolve around tastier offerings than green beer.
We’re less than two weeks away from St. Joseph’s Day, the best food holiday of all, but today marks Purim, the one Jewish holiday that doesn’t revolve around misery and despair. Purim is the holiday where you’re supposed to eat delicious hamantashen and drink so much you can’t tell the men from the women. (Really! At least, that’s what my Jewish friends always told me.)
Today on the East Side there was a parade with costumes and everything, though judging by the winners people sadly didn’t get very rowdy about it.
