RIILE is bringing Tom Tancredo to town this week. Along with the barely-coded Youth for Western Civilization.
The founder of YWC’s Vanderbilt chapter says it all:
Reminded of the legends about “No Irish Need Apply” signs that used to hang in shop windows, Williams thought about it for a moment, then said, “They probably had the right idea … at least, until (the Irish) assimilated.”
(Those weren’t legends… and boy is that a creepy coat of arms for YWC.) There will be protests, hopefully with placards making liberal use of the above quote.
Apparently the protests are tonight at 6:30 at the Pawtucket VFW (Capt. Euart Elwood Post 602 at 55 Overland Ave. off Mineral Springs Ave. by 126). Yay for placards.
Ironically, the battle axe was also used by Tammany Hall as a symbol of the election day violence and intimidation developed by their #1 support group, the Irish. There is a battle axe or tomahawk on top of the Pawtucket City Hall in specific recognition of the Tammany machine. hmmmm
I just read the RIfuture link. Apparently it’s a “battle axe”. You can’t deny the resemblance.
