People’s Power and Light (PP and L), a local non-profit dedicated to ‘making energy more affordable and sustainable’, is holding its annual meeting on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 6pm at Save the Bay Center. The meeting agenda is dominated by a panel discussion entitled “Federal Stimulus Funds and State Funds for Sustainable Energy”.
PP and L, led by Karina Lutz, recently won a $59,400 contract to prepare the City of Providence’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy as well as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) application submission. As this author reported in a previous post, the city has received approximately $1.7m to grant under the EECBG program. In essence, PP and L, with various subconsultants, is tasked with preparing the funding allocation plan, which is due in a month. Not a bad contract for a month’s worth of work. Let’s hope it pays off.
