This is where that bead place used to be. I guess the name says it all. It’s nice to see a local independent retailer open up among the usual category killers. Speaking of killers, also up and running is Shark the sushi/hibachi grill place with a live shark in a tank. It is quite the scene at night, the whole thing opening up onto the sidewalk tables with fairly loud music. Baja’s, the future Tex-Mex joint right next door, is still under construction. (Is there really a person named Baja?)
…not to mention the fact that when they opened their first joint downtown, they took business away from a long-time establishment in that neighborhood, Gellar’s on Washington Street. Forgot to mention that.
I’d agree about it being nice that the newly opened sneaker place is a local retailer, except for the fact that they cannibalized another local retailer.
Oooh, does that mean that their sneakers aren’t going to smell like Subway/methy gay people anymore?
