J Street Rhode Island is hosting a fabulous kick-off event on Wednesday, February 24th, at the Jewish Community Center on Elmgrove Avenue starting at 7:30 PM.

So come on down and show your support, yeah? But wait… who is J Street, you ask, and what is it all about?

J Street is a political advocacy group — at work locally and in Washington — that favors a two-state solution of Israelis and Palestinians living side-by-side in peace and security, a shared Jerusalem which functions as the administrative capital of both nations, an immediate and total freeze of settlement activity in the West Bank and tons of other awesome, pro-peace policies you won’t hear from other quarters. Find out more about its work here.

The celebration will feature video remarks by J Street’s executive director, Jeremy Ben-Ami, a visit from the Israel deputy consul in Boston, Roni Yedidia, and live klezmer music. To learn more or get involved, shoot an email to rhodeisland@jstreet.org. To RSVP for the event, click here.

And for extra fun, watch this interesting discussion between J Street founder Jeremy Ben-Ami and Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, moderated by Eliot Spitzer, here: Jeremy Ben-Ami & Alan Dershowitz

February 24, Wednesday, 7:30pm, Jewish Community Center, 401 Elmgrove Avenue
