I can’t recommend the Phosphorescent show at Club Hell enough. They rocked my world at the Black Rep last year. They’re billed as “indie folk/alt country” and along with several fantastic albums of their own stuff, they’re the only band I know who has a (really, really good) album consisting solely of covers of Willie Nelson songs. The last time I saw them, infamous Deer Tick fan Chris Petta was so excited he jumped up on stage, and the keyboardist immediately grinned and slid over to make room. I love bands that are sweet to their salivating fans (hi, ‘Mericans!).
