Head over to India Point Park at 3:30pm, Monday October 11, to get in on the very start of Pronk! Providence Honk Fest for seven hours of honking and pronking. Bands from all over the country will converge on the Fox Point area playing at India Point Park for a while, then parading down Wickenden, and then an evening of dancing and jumping up and down. Joyous community bands have begun to emerge in every corner of the world from the ashes of modern-day gloom. Blending traditions of second line and klezmer, funk and bollywood, mardi gras and carnival, these bands honk their horns, beat their drums, and wave their flags in the streets to reclaim public space for the purpose of revelry.
