Election Day Info (Hey, You Gotta Eat)

McRib Day Want a smooth trip to the polls on Election Day? Use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place, confirm the accuracy of your voter registration, find out what time your polling place opens and see a sample of your ballot. (McRib Locator below.)

Your polling place may have changed since the last time you voted. Statewide there will be 537 polling places open, nearly 90 more than there were for September’s primary.

Some polling place hours have changed, too. The polls will open between 7am and 9am depending on the community. By state law, all polls must close at 9pm.

More than 700,000 Rhode Islanders are eligible to vote. If your eligibility is challenged at your polling place, you can still vote using a provisional ballot, which will be counted if elections officials determine that your voter registration is valid.

You can bring a marked sample ballot or other material that will help you in the voting booth. Any eligible voter in line when the polls close at 9pm will be allowed to cast a ballot.

Unexpectedly find that you will be unable to vote at your polling place on Election Day? Go to your city or town hall on Monday and request an Emergency Ballot.
