An invitation from Mayor Angel Taveras (and when Irish eyes are smiling, Angels are supposed to sing),
Providence City Hall will be filled with festive Irish music and dance on Thursday, March 17 at 12:30pm as Mayor Taveras hosts a St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Providence State Senator Maryellen Goodwin is the guest speaker. The celebration will include traditional Celtic sounds and Irish step dancing performed by the Goulding School of Irish Dance, and bagpipes by the Providence Police Department Pipes and Drums.
Tomorrow at the same time is the St. Joseph’s Day celebration. According to the City Hall website, “Light lunch will be served along with plenty of corned beef sandwiches and zeppoles following the programs” . . . immediately followed by an EMT defibrillator demonstration (joke). Maybe the corned beef is today and the zeppoles are Friday.
Free and open to the public, 12:30pm, Thursday, City Hall, Providence
