tiny bookNot About the Buildings has teamed up with the Providence Athenaeum once again to bring us “Micro-Memoir!” I missed like four of these but finally made it to the last one in March, and it was fantastic. The hosts have it all down pat, from free wine and snacks to not revealing the secret topics until it’s time to write. Everyone who participated shared their stuff (which is optional), and it was a memorable mix of funny and touching and even sad stories, all in 200 words or less. I’m not usually gung ho about getting up in front of crowds and sharing, but the environment is too supportive not to.

Thursday, May 5, 5pm refreshments/5:30pm writing begins, Providence Athenaeum, 251 Benefit Street, free.
