Sure you can go to the beach, but what do you have to show for it at the end of the day but seaweed in your bathing suit and sand in your egg salad. Try something different this year. More courses are on tap at the Steel Yard including ceramics, copper bowl workshop, wire and chains, beginning blacksmithing workshop, and the weekend welding workshops seem to run through July into August. So at least go and learn how to weld. Or, starting July 7th is ‘Beginning Jewlery: The Ring’ with RISD alum Amie Plante.
This course will focus on learning the basic techniques used in jewelry fabrication. Students will learn sawing, piercing, filing, texturing, forming, and soldering.
Think of the money you’ll save on sunblock and Christmas presents. Check the course listings here.
