Iron Chef Competition At Steel Yard (Postponed To Sunday)

iron chef [RAIN DATE: Iron Chef has been postponed to 1pm, Sunday, September 25th.]

Always a hit.

Teams of artists and fabricators compete in our 4th annual sculpture competition. Four teams, three rounds, one IRON CHEF! Last year’s winners — Butcher Block Mill headed by Curtis Aric — are back again to try and claim the title for the 2nd year in a row.

How does this work?

The event will take place outside next to the Steel Yard studio in front of a live audience. Two identical shop areas will be set up for teams to work in. There is a communal materials pantry (a.k.a. a big pile of metal and objects) that teams can pull from to create their masterpiece. Each round, two teams will go head-to-head in a fabrication challenge. A secret ingredient will be revealed in each round all of which must be used. Judges will pick a winning team to advance to the final round.

$15, 1pm to 5pm, Saturday, September 24, the Steel Yard, 27 Sims Avenue, 273.7101, (Rain date September 25)
