You will not be missed. Major demolition starts today on the ramshackle Shooters building. See the report by R.J. Heim for some old footage of a Cheers farewell party and bungee jumping. The building’s foundation, built to withstand a 25 foot storm surge, will be left in place, but the shattered pile of crapola above it must go. The property includes the floating marina out back (“floating” being a relative term, pic after jump.) This site has such possibilities; I favor mixed-use. Definitely a marina, definitely a restaurant, and I like the aquarium idea suggested by the DEM guy. Maybe just a small one with horseshoe crabs and stuff, but something. I take credit for this. Back when Shootuz was a meat market I begged Poseidon to take it to the bottom of the bay. Poseidon was kind of slow, but He heard my prayer.
