(3.17) The Arkham Film Society presents Stuart Gordon’s film adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft’s horror classic Re-Animator.
Re-Animator is about young doctor Herbert West and his quest to revive life via a glowing green serum he has created and is based on a short story by H.P. Lovecraft. This cult horror classic received a very limited theatrical release in 1985 but would go on to win over legions of fans during the 80’s video boom with its mix of black comedy and gory over the top special effects. This event will function as both a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Lovecraft’s death (March 15th, 1937) and also a fun alternative for people looking for something different to do on St. Patrick’s Day.
In glorious 35mm. Running time 86 minutes.
$8, 7pm, Saturday, March 17, Granoff Center for the Creative Arts, 154 Angell Street
