SCLT Hub Day

SCLT (4.14) Hub Day takes place at three locations around town so pay attention.

On Saturday, April 14th (rain date April 21st) Southside Community Land Trust’s Providence Community Growers Network (PCGN) will kick off the growing-season with its Neighborhood Hub Day. The PCGN will be distributing organic compost for members of the Growers Network. Residents can participate in a seed swap, attend a free beginning organic growers workshop, and of course, celebrate with food and refreshments at three neighborhood locations.

Southside Hub: 10am to 1pm, Davey Lopes Recreation Center, 227 Dudley Street

West Side Hub: 10am to 1pm, Groundwork Providence Garden, 14-18 Ring Street

Olneyville Hub: Noon to 3pm, Manton Avenue Community Garden, 40 Florence Street

The PCGN is working with community leaders to establish six neighborhood ‘Hubs’  — community gardens or community centers where people can pick up gardening materials, attend workshops, and community events — throughout Providence. Each ‘Hub’ will be easily accessible to people in each neighborhood, whether by foot, bike, bus, or car.
