RISD Film/Animation/Video Senior Show

2012 FAV-Senior Show The Rhode Island School of Design will present its Film/Animation/Video Festival from May 16 through May 19 (opening reception on Tuesday, May 15). This year’s festival premieres the work of thirty RISD seniors.

The festival kicks off with a gallery exhibition with live performances at 204 Westminster, 3rd floor, on Tuesday, May 15 at 6:30pm. Admission to this event is free.

The film screenings will be presented at the RISD Main Auditorium from May 16-19 at 7pm, with one series of films to be screened on Wednesday and repeated on Friday, the second series to be screened on Thursday and repeated on Saturday. Tickets to the screenings are $5 for the general public or $3 with a student ID.

According to Ian Donnis over at WRNI, RISD student Julian Marshall will be presenting the debut of his narrative film Obey the Giant — the origin story of Shepard Fairey’s ‘Obey Giant’ campaign, set in 1990 when Shepard was a student at RISD — on Wednesday, May 16 and again on Friday, May 18.

  1. It’s unfortunate that for a local publication, you failed to highlight the works of the 29 other seniors who busted their asses without paying over $300,000, as Julian did, to make films and animations with more passion, substance and form.
