Out of Raleigh, North Carolina we have folk trio (duo?) the Bowerbirds (for fans of Low Anthem) playing at the Met (your best bet for something like air conditioning . . . still, everyone’s going to be a little ripe by then). Doors 8pm, show 9pm, $14 day of. Basia Bulat opens.
OR check out Black Pus (Brian Chippendale) at the Empire Black Box Theater, 95 Empire Street, with Man Forever, MV Carbon (of Metalux), and Timeghost. (These guys start out ripe.) Show starts at 10pm. They may, or may not, be charging $7.
