(6.30) Don’t forget the big block party today, Saturday, courtesy of the West Broadway Neighborhood Association (WBNA). We have already written about this, but let’s review.
Wanna dance? Enjoy live music from two stages (rock & roll, hip hop, acoustic) from these great local artists: Northern Lands, the Silks, Mark Cutler, Milo & Otis, the Mighty Good Boys, Jon Hope & DJ Knockout, Carolyn Hecht (of tig & bean), Mark McCall, Daniel Rouvrais, Extraordinary Rendition Band, and the fantastic Community MusicWorks Student String Quartet.
Wanna play nice? You can play and learn at the same time with POW! Science’s amazing demonstration! A Providence fire engine and fire safety truck will be on hand to interact with. You can also learn to screenprint with RiverzEdge Arts Project, who have designed a commemorative Block Party 2012 screen that they will help you screenprint onto your own shirt – purchase a shirt to screen, or use something you already own!
Food trucks, cold draft beer, doggie rest stop, dunk tank, frozen T-shirt contest, and more. The exuberant Miss Wensday will emcee. (fb)
Free, Noon to 6pm, Saturday, June 30, Harrison Street at Division Street (directions)
