A Weekend Of Handbuilt Bikes

Chapman's Cycles Are you worried about toe/tire overlap? Do you even know what the hell toe/tire overlap is? If you answered yes, keep reading. This weekend Providence will host the New England Builders Ball, a handbuilt bike show featuring New England-based framebuilders. Local exhibitors include Chapman Cycles (seen here), Circle A Cycles, and Cleverhood (apparel). Then there’s two days of racing as the Cyclo-cross Festival takes over Roger Williams Park on Saturday and Sunday.

Come to Providence on Friday, October 5, to see the work of some of the world’s best bicycle makers at the Biltmore‘s “Garden Room.”  Admission is only $3, and the event runs from 7 to 10 pm with live music, cash bar, and some fun surprises.  Stay in town over the weekend to check out world-class bike racing at the Providence Cyclocross Festival and great deals on bikes and bike paraphernalia at a huge bike swap (at the race site) all day Saturday and Sunday.

Registration for the Cyclo-cross closes Wednesday, October 3rd at 1pm.

Builders Ball, $3, 7pm to 10pm, Friday, October 5, Biltmore Hotel, 11 Dorrance Street
