Gram Parsons Tribute At The Narrows

the 'mericans (10.27) Several local artists will participate in a tribute to Gram Parsons Saturday night at the Narrows, including Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses/Breeders/Belly fame. (Facebook)

The Narrows Center will be presenting the Spindle City Americana Music Festival featuring the Music of Gram Parsons. Eight acts (Ryan Fitzsimmons and Danielle Miraglia, Girls Guns and Glory, Sarah Borges, Bob Kendall Band, Mark Cutler Band, the ‘Mericans, Acousticana, and Louie Leeman) will be participating. Each act will do two Gram Parson’s songs — one chosen by the Narrows and one chosen by the act. Each act will also be playing some of their own material as well. The whole event will be recorded for a cd release in early 2013. This will be a great night of music paying tribute to one of the Godfathers of the Americana music scene.

The ‘Mericans are heading the bill (10:20-ish). The Narrows is in an old mill building on the Fall River waterfront. You can bring your own food, drink and alcohol to all events in bags and small coolers that will fit under your chair. They sell fresh brewed coffee, tea, soda, bottled water, snacks, and on most nights freshly baked desserts.

$15 advance/$17 day of, 4pm to 11pm, Saturday, October 27, 16 Anawan Street, Fall River (map)
