Sandy Relief Effort At Frog & Toad

sandy relief [Update: Just got back from the truck. Asher says the response has been great. You still have until 6pm today, Thursday; and all day tomorrow, Friday, 10am until 6pm. See list below for what to bring. BC]

Okay people, this is legit. The good, and super-organized, people over at Frog & Toad (Yay, Schofield family . . . they have been out there all day.) are taking up a collection of items needed by the people who got clobbered by Sandy. They have been in touch with a specific organization which has requested specific items and people will be there to receive them. So this effort is well-meaning and well-guided.

In the next four days, we are hoping to collect enough supplies for Hurricane Sandy victims to fill a U-Haul. Then, we will truck it all down to New York. These people have lost their homes, their personal items . . . everything. Let’s work together in this small way to help keep them from losing  hope as well. Please come by Frog & Toad with whatever you can donate or afford to buy in the way of the following items. And thank you so much for your generosity and love.

The following items would be greatly appreciated: canned food, bottled water, baby food, diapers and wipes, toiletries, candles, flashlights, C and D batteries, heavy duty garbage bags, gloves and masks, rubber boots, cleaning supplies and bleach, serving dishes and utensils, towels, blankets, underwear, sweatpants and sweatshirts, and winter jackets, hats and gloves.

They want to finish packing the truck by Friday to drive it down to the New York location early Saturday morning. (If What Cheer Antiques and Vintage at Thayer and Angell is a more convenient drop-off, you can leave items with them. They will get it over to the truck.)

Drop off at Frog & Toad, 795 Hope Street, through Friday, (Facebook Event Page), #wegotthis
