Free Brown Folk Fest — Public Welcome

buff (4.13) The 5th annual Brown University Folk Festival will bring folk music, dance, and food, to Brown’s campus for the fifth year in a row, Saturday, April 13. The free festival, open to the public, will kick off at noon out on Brown’s Lincoln Field. The jamboree will move to Sayles Hall at 6pm and carry on until midnight. This year’s festivities will run the gamut from folksy, bluesy, and roots music to Celtic twanged tunes and rock and roll beats. (Complete details and schedule go here.)

Noon to 6pm, Lincoln Field — Gil Moss, Chasing Blue, Kyle Carey, Smith and Weeden, and ARR!!! (Brown’s only pirate-themed, sea-shanty-singing a capella group)

6pm to Midnight, Sayles Hall — Student bands kick off, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, Vudu Sister, Tallahassee, Mighty Good Boys

The festival will feature a selection of local food and crafts vendors. In case of rain, the festival will be take place in Sayles Hall all day. A rain call will be made in the days leading up to the event and will be posted at brownfolkfest.org.
