bikes (10.6) The 2013 New England Bike-Walk Summit starts today, October 4, from 9am to 5pm. This regional conference returns to the Providence Biltmore for a full day of sessions on compelling topics, field sessions, networking, and national leaders in the pro-bike movement. Organized by Providence resident Eric Weis the ProJo reports,

From a small downtown office, Weis oversees the development of trails for the East Coast Greenway, an initiative to create 3,000 miles of traffic-free paths from Florida to Canada. But on Friday, he’ll hoof it to the Providence Biltmore to run the 2013 New England Bike-Walk Summit.

Friday night is the Builder’s Ball in the Biltmore Grand Ballroom from 7pm to 10pm, a celebration of New England framebuilders and an exhibition of their work.

Three days of Providence Cyclo-cross at Roger Williams Park including the Gran Fondo (Sunday at 7am) at Roger Williams Park — racing, frosty suds in the beer garden, and a food court.
