Peter Glantz will be hosting a unique evening of music featuring actor John C. Reilly, Becky Stark, and Tom Brosseau. Ms. Stark, the voice of the band Lavender Diamond, also performs with the Living Sisters, and joined the Decemberists on their album”Hazards of Love” to sing the role of Margaret. Stark and Reilly have recorded a couple of singles produced by Jack White at Third Man Records.
Local legend Death Vessel, who is playing at the Newport Folk Fest the same weekend, will perform a special solo set of his songs.
As for Mr. Glantz, he seems to have a many irons in the fire and balls in the air (much better than having irons in the air and your balls in the fire). Glantz has directed music videos for Wilco, Andrew WK, as well as the exquisite “Mercury Dime” for Death Vessel. And he is currently director of LED effects for the band OK Go’s 2014 show (attention Brown Alumni Magazine). Glantz and Stark created the web series “We Can Do It!” among other projects. He may be over-qualified as host but will no doubt turn the assignment into something weird and memorable.
