(8.9) Empire Street between Washington and Westminster will be closed to traffic Saturday so that AS220 can throw its annual Foo Fest with live music indoors and outdoors, food trucks, vendors, and an Anarchist Book Fair. The Providence Phoenix has a comprehensive writeup.
This year’s Fest will feature a indie/punk/post-hardcore band called Ask the Dead, a vegan ice cream truck, an Anarchist Book Fair, a nine-year old rapper, a .gif photo booth, a performance by a industrial-music legend, and a pneumatic tube system that delivers advice from comic book characters.
The Foo Fest website has all the details including the music lineup for the day, with lots of local talent and headliners Psychic TV. $7 for 12 hours of music — beat that.
