This new spur of the Woonasquatucket Greenway Bike Path allows pedestrians and cyclists a new perspective of the Rising Sun fish ladders and adds another stretch of the bike path. From the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council website,
The green linear park revitalizes the major hidden natural resource on the West Side of the City and is a destination for neighborhood residents and people throughout Providence and Rhode Island. A bicycle/pedestrian path links recreational areas, green spaces, destination sites, and the neighborhoods of Manton, Hartford, Olneyville, Valley, and Smith Hill to each other and Waterplace Park in downtown Providence.
Go here for a map of the Greenway.
This view of the Rising Sun Dam (fish ladder to the right) is taken from the bike path bridge. Hard to believe you are right off of Valley Street in Olneyville.
