(8.23) How many lost souls trying to find their way home — this is Pawtucket we’re talking about — have ended up under this bridge and said “This would be a great place for a party.” We doubt the event planned for Saturday is the first gathering here, but this one is official. DOT AIR organizers — Machines With Magnets together with the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council — have secured this unique location for an experimental music festival with some awesome live acts on tap: Black Pus, Alec K. Redfearn and the Eyesores, Dislocation Ensemble, Assembly of Light Choir, Work/Death, Psycle, and the debut of “Water Signs” the latest work from the Sisters Van Nostrand .
DOT AIR is the first annual outdoor music show that will take place under the Pawtucket River Bridge, by the riverside. A temporary stage and venue installation will showcase live music acts, experimental music ensembles, performance art and electronic musicians.
AND, at sundown, the bridge will be illuminated by Abernathy Lighting Design’s color-changing lights. Sound and light will be combined utilizing the extraordinary illuminations affixed to the Pawtucket River Bridge. And there will be food trucks. Complete info about the event, and parking etc., at DOT AIR.
$5, 4pm to 11pm, Saturday, August 23, under the bridge, 40 Taft Avenue, Pawtucket
