(9.10) Tickets still available at the time of this writing for Game Two of the Governors’ Cup Championship tonight at McCoy. Pawtucket took a 1-0 series lead last night in their 3/2 win over the Durham Bulls. ProJo writer Tim Britton notes Edwin Escobar’s solid pitching,
Escobar’s performance, and the continued success of Pawtucket’s pitching staff despite the personnel overhaul, is a credit to pitching coach Rich Sauveur. Sauveur announced Tuesday he would be leaving the Red Sox organization in order to pursue other opportunities.
The 50-year-old Sauveur has been Pawtucket’s pitching coach since 2008, overseeing five different staffs that went to the postseason.
Probable pitching: Brian Johnson vs Alex Colome. The next three games would be played in Durham.
