‘Surface Tension’ At MWM

(9.19) An opening reception will be held tonight at Machines With Magnets for new works by Thomas Engleman. “Surface Tension” runs through October 19th with,

. . . printmaking, drawing and artist books that are thematically interconnected through mysterious atmospheres with peculiar narratives. The work represents Engleman’s curiosity in ambiguous imagery, illustrated by drawing, mark-making and non-traditional / primitive forms of printmaking. Figures and objects submerge and emerge, they gasp and they respire; their outlines defined by the surface tension between two worlds, one present, the other haltingly absent.

Seen here: “Idea” graphite and ink on duralar.

Free, 6pm, Friday, September 19, Machines With Magnets, 400 Main Street, Pawtucket
