When the ProJo first ran “Felon mayor’s own words condemn him” by Steven Frias in July my first thought was that I would be reviving and sharing this piece as the election drew closer . . . if needed. Well, it seems to be needed, and the Providence Journal editorial board clearly had the same idea.
Today’s editorial “His own words” (crediting Frias) provides damning excerpts from Cianci’s own memoir. I’m not sure which is more shocking — what he says, or that he said it. The quotes are stunning — the man revels in his corruption and while demonstrating a cynical contempt for the voters. He will not be able to deny or spin this stuff.
