This is why we love the Cable Car! Owner Daniel Kamil has announced
It appears that we are confirmed to screen The Interview. One of a handful of independent cinemas across the country to play it. Apparently, it will arrive tomorrow. If all goes well – we will set the schedule for a Friday opening. Tickets will be available online and as we are only 100 seats I imagine selling out quickly.
Yes, we will watch our silly Rogen/Franco buddy movie, Mr. Kim Jong Un.
The ProJo has run an update on the story.
Providence’s Cable Car Cinema, which had urged Sony to release the film, tweeted in response to a query: “We are still working out the details. But most likely 12/26 opening.” (The theater is closed on Christmas.)
The Cable Car added later: “According to Sony we are booked. Film should arrive tomorrow. We’ll see.”
It will be interesting to see how the PPD handles the situation. (Please no tanks.) The HuffPo has a list of participating theaters across the country.
