Thayer Block Party

(5.16) Narragansett Beer is throwing a Thayer Street Neighbor Days Block Party, Saturday from noon to 6pm, featuring beer, food, local music, raffles, games.

Live music from WBRU, including performances from Patrick Coman, Forrest Fires, Josh Grabert, and Public Alley, this year’s wild card BRU Rock Hunt champs. Nice profile of this teenaged charm offensive in Providence Monthly describing their winning performance . . .

. . . tightly arranged, high-energy 30 minutes of indie pop. There was a trumpet, accordions, an out-of-left-field rap. The whole band was erupting with charm and an infectious amount of enthusiasm. It was fun, damn it; an honest-to-goodness blast to watch from start to finish. When they walked away champions the only people surprised were the members of Public Alley.

Free, Noon to 6pm, Saturday, May 16, Thayer Street between Cushing and Angell
