(11.1) This might be of special interest locally. A profile of Rhode Island musician (Lightning Bolt, Black Pus) and artist (screen print hanging in my bathroom) Brian Chippendale is one in a group of documentary shorts screening at 4pm Sunday at the Providence Art & Design Film Festival.
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Brian Chippendale has been living and working in Providence since the early 1990’s. A printmaker, cartoonist, painter and musician, he is a well known founder of the Fort Thunder artist collective and released five albums with his band Lightning Bolt. He is also a member of the band Black Pus.
Other titles in this group include “David Hockney in the Now: In Six Minutes,” “Hugh the Hunter” (same director as Cutie and the Boxer!), “Larger than Life,” as well as “Walter Potter: The Man who Married Kittens,” the story of a Victorian anthropomorphic taxidermist. (Now have I got your attention? See trailer — not for the faint of heart.)
There are other movies screening at 11am, 1:30pm, and 7pm, on Sunday. See ADFF schedule.
