‘Dark Providence’ Television Project

(1.25) Occasionally we suggest you leave town, if it’s something special. This tidbit comes from Niels Hobbs, proprietor of the Lovecraft Arts and Sciences Council, regarding a proposed Lovecraftian television series — ‘Dark Providence’ written by Clark Huggins and Zuzanna Szadkowski. A full staged reading of the pilot script will take place this Monday in New York City. Seems like there could be an audience for a television show like this. Perhaps we could finally rebrand the Superman building. Perhaps they could actually use it! And this poster is pretty awesome. This from Niels,

Hear ye! And help spread the word!

A special reading of the pilot episode of a proposed TV show, “DARK PROVIDENCE,” will be read this coming Monday in New York City. This is the script that was performed live during last August’s NecronomiCon PVD (the working name for the script at the time was NECRONOMICON).

We’re very excited to see this project coming together, as it (hopefully) will film in Providence! As a bonus, it’s also a REALLY good script.

There does not seem to be a website for this project but they have a Twitter feed. Free admission: Reserve your seat here, darkprovidencetv@gmail.com.

There is an art show as well as Lovecraft-themed craft beer by Narragansett Brewery. Of course.

And if you haven’t been to the Lovecraft Arts & Science storefront downtown in the Arcade yet, why not? It’s not just for fans of weird fiction — they carry many authors, original art, strange objets, T-shirts. (We wrote up the shop last summer.)

Script reading, free, 7pm, Monday, January 25, Manhattan Theater Club Studios, 8th floor, 311 W. 43rd Street
