Ferry To Newport Begins Service

A one-way ticket is only $10! This is how you get to Newport with your out-of-town visitors. And there is a bar on board.

The ferry was tucked in with the tugs last night as workers put the finishing touches on the “terminal” (a tent and a booth). The parking lot is ready and helpful signs are up in the area along India and Gano Streets.

This site is just screaming for a diner/clam shack/shore dinner hall/brew pub. Nothing fancy. Clam cakes, lobster rolls, beer. (Okay, maybe right now it’s only me screaming, but you know I’m right.)

$10, maiden voyage, 10am, Friday, July 1st, ferry terminal, 25 India Street, (directions), 1-800-BOATRIDE
