Arc Iris In-Store At What Cheer

(9.3) Come meet the band! Providence trio Arc Iris will perform this Saturday at What Cheer Records, celebrating the release of their new album ‘Moon Saloon’ as they head out on their national tour. While all three members will be playing it will necessarily be a stripped-down presentation. Says keyboard genius Zach Tenorio-Miller, “There will be no wings.” Good news for the vintage egg cups.

From the Facebook event page,

What Cheer Records + Vintage celebrates the release of the new Arc Iris album ‘Moon Saloon’ with a special in-store listening party / performance with the Providence band at our Thayer Street shop.

Come pick up an LP or CD and meet the band!

Check out the tour schedule and let your friends know they are coming (even some U.K. dates at the end of October, into November). These guys put on a show. They return to Providence on October 14th to play the Columbus Theatre with Superhuman Happiness. I’m assuming the wings will be deployed at that time.

NPR Music raved about the new ‘Moon Saloon’ video. And Spin had this to say,

The group’s forthcoming self-produced record (mixed by electronica producer David Wrench of FKA Twigs and Jamie xx fame) combines the traditional with the digital to make celestial pop à la Bat for Lashes.

Seen here: Zach Tenorio-Miller and Jocie Adams at Foo Fest 2016. Drummer Ray Belli was off to the right — I can’t wait to see how he performs in closer quarters. Maybe we should batten down the egg cups after all.

5pm to 8pm, Saturday, September 3, What Cheer Records and Vintage, 180 Angell Street at Thayer, (directions)
