Music Mansion — Two Events

[Update: February 12 Chopin Musicale canceled due to weather.]

Two events this weekend at the Music Mansion. This enchanting music venue has the added advantage of being a fallout shelter. In case . . . you know . . . Nordstrom’s steps out of line again.

Saturday, February 11, 7pm — Verdant Vibes Benefit Concert (Facebook)

You’re invited to the Verdant Vibes benefit concert, our annual fundraising show that helps us continue our mission of presenting exciting new music and multimedia performance by living artists from RI and around the world. Complimentary refreshments will be served beginning at 6:30 pm thanks to Foolproof and Lagunitas Brewing Companies. $25 suggested donation.

Expect haunting music for strings and electronics. Performances by Judah Adashi, Julie Barwick, Michael Genese, Ssu-Yu Huang, Evan Williams, Frances White, and Kirsten Volness will be playing a piano solo written in memory of Nina Simone.

Sunday, February 12, 2pm — Chopin Club Musicale featuring a sonata for two violins, a sonata for piano, a string quartet version of a concerto for piano, and something called “starlight transmissions.” (Musicales will be canceled if there is a parking ban in Providence. Check their page for updates.)
