Downtown River Clean-up

(8.17) The Woonasquatucket River Rangers are partnering with local businesses and organizations around Waterplace Park, the Providence Place Mall, and along Promenade and Kinsley Streets for a river cleanup, one month prior to the annual Woony River Ride.

This area of the river is tidal, so volunteers will gather early on this day in preparation for a midday low tide. We need help both on land and in water. We’re looking for folks who want to don waders to help clean in the river and those who want to lend a hand on shore hauling out what is gathered from the river. If we get enough help, we hope to do some litter sweeps and hit some graffiti in the area, too!

Free T-shirt and lunch for volunteers. Please wear and bring:

— clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
— a change of clothes
— hats, sunscreen, bug spray
— refillable water bottle
— canoes, waders and tools if you have them!
