Amazing, startling, shocking, and free! Pinball, video games — even Skee-ball — it’s all here at the Shelter Arcade Bar. Order a drink from the charming Rhowen (sounds like ‘rowan’) to go with pizza or a calzone. (Keep in mind, you are mere steps away from the N.Y. System.) Facebook page.
The Game List includes: Ms. Pac-Man, Frogger, Donkey Kong, Tron, The Simpsons, Q•bert, LOTR, X-Men, The Walking Dead Pro, and Creature from the Black Lagoon! (I’m pretty sure Sally Hawkins did not pose for this image.)
Don Cøøg of The Daily Note holds court many Wednesdays with DJ Cam Bells, the Prince of PVD. The night I was there, he had Josh Abreu on drums; the music was great and just the right volume. Get your friends together — this is like a great party where you can still hear each other.
