Robot Block Party — Saturday

(4.7) The robots are coming to Providence. Join the Compass School Robotics Team and 19 other schools for the 5th annual Robot Block Party this Saturday at the Brown University Pizzitola Center.  (Facebook event page.) This event is hosted by First LEGO League Rhode Island, a.k.a. the Rhode Island School of the Future. (You remember the future . . . right?)

Created by Rhode Island Students of the Future and the Humanity Centered Robotics Initiative and the Department of Computer Science at Brown University, the Robot Block Party highlights the innovation of our state’s robotic community, bringing together industry, universities, community organizations, and K-12 schools.

This event includes hands-on robotics activities, demonstrations, and exhibits.

Exhibitors include Zebra Technologies, igus, Hasbro, Sproutel, RIVR with the Warwick Public Library, Fab Newport, RI Computer Museum, Ocean State Maker Mill, IEEE Providence Section, Providence Children’s Museum, RI Drone Club, Rhode Island Students of the Future, Skills USA, DRF Engineering, Joe Markee Robotic Sculptures, Vintage Robot, Bishop Hendricken, East Providence High School, Gilbert Stuart Middle School, Kickemuit Middle School, Moses Brown School, Our Lady of Mercy, Pilgrim High School, Riverside Middle School, the Compass School, the Gordon School, Martin Middle School, AIR 4H, Henry Barnard School, the Wheeler School, WAGS Robotics, Mount Pleasant High School Robotics, HCRI at Brown University, the Humans to Robots Laboratory at Brown University, Johnson and Wales University, RISD Rover, Robotics for Complex Underwater Environments at URI, URI Mechatronics Laboratory, URI HydRobotics, Roger Williams University and the Brown IEEE Robotics Olympiad.
