PVDFest

(6.10) Head downtown this weekend for Providence’s signature arts festival PVD Fest, four days of performances, interactive art installations, the Providence Mini Maker Faire, and food.

Scheduled artists include: What Cheer Brigade, Kelly Irish Dancers, the Van Nostrand Sisters, Blue Moon Caravan Tribal Bellydance, Australia’s Sway Poles, Ranky Tanky, Burlington Taiko, Jungle Fiction, RI Latin Dance, the Pilobolus Umbrella Project, and more.

Complete festival schedule here.

Seen here is Cycle Sonic, a “symphony of bicycles with human-powered stages.” They will perform on 1 Exchange Street: Saturday, June 9, at 2pm and 7pm; and again Sunday, June 10, at 2pm and 4pm.

FirstWorks welcomes back PVDFest veteran performers Squonk Opera with their celebration of “all things bicycle,” featuring human-powered stages propelled by original chamber rock music! Sprouting bulb-horns and whirligigs, whistles and bells, these parade floats become musical instruments through the swirl and thump of wheel and pedal.

PVD Fest, Thursday through Sunday, June 7 – June 10, assorted venues downtown
