The latest addition to the Hope Street scene is the new ice cream window at Stock Culinary Goods on Hope Street. Seen here is Victoria Young, a pastry chef who now makes ice cream for her Fountain and Co. Craft Ice Cream. Gail Ciampa included her in a survey of the local ice cream scene for the ProJo.
Providence has a new artisan brand, Fountain and Co. Craft Ice Cream, that is generating a lot of delicious buzz for ice cream maker Victoria Young’s sweet, chilled flavors made with fresh ingredients. . .
Those craving flavors such as Lavender White Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Borealis Coffee, French Vanilla and Blue-Ruby Sorbet made with blueberry and grapefruit, can find the ice cream at the Stock window each Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. with Young scooping it into cones and cups.
I tried the lemon-strawberry-verbena sorbet and it was delicious. Good Luck Charm was for Friday the 13th. $5/scoop. Cup or cone. Available till sold out.
Saturday hours have been added. Stock sells ice cream makers as well.
Friday, 3pm to 8pm/Saturday, noon to 6pm, Fountain & Co., 756 Hope Street, (directions)
