(7.29) Which is to say that parking at all Rhode Island state beaches will be free all day Sunday, July 29. This only applies to the seven state beaches listed below. Seen here is the approach to the beach at East Matunuck in South Kingstown. (Facebook event.)
Park free and enjoy the sand and surf at any one of Rhode Island’s seven beautiful state beaches: Scarborough, Roger Wheeler or Salty Brine in Narragansett; East Matunuck in South Kingstown; Charlestown Breachway or East Beach in Charlestown; or Misquamicut in Westerly.
Warning: Special activities at Roger Wheeler are planned from 11:30am to 2:30pm and include a sandcastle contest, arts and crafts area, and music “courtesy” of Coast 93.3 (ugh).
In addition to free parking at all state beaches, people are allowed to fish Rhode Island’s saltwaters without a license.
Maybe you’ll want to make a day of it. Go here for the Law and Order Party Summer Guide 2018.
And if any politicians ruin the peace and quiet of the day by blasting noise at, or anywhere near, the beach — call the police and complain!
