RI Comic Con All Weekend

(11.4) It is time once again for the RI Comic Con, a fanfest devoted to comic artists, sci-fi actors, wrestlers, and all manner of folks who have penetrated the popular culture by pretending to be someone they are not. Events on the calendar include: ink fusion tattoo, geek speed dating, cosplay, guest panels, 4D drone experience, photo ops, fan panels, and portfolio review.

Welcome news at Motif Magazine concerning event organization and the crowd flow problems that have plagued past events:

This year, RICC has made changes to help fans see more of the show, including a significant change sure to please seasoned convention goers.

“We finally, finally have the opportunity to have multiple entrances to the show,” Soares says. “This is a long-awaited change. We’re going to have a lot of entrances now. We’ll have two primary entrances, one in the Dunkin Donuts Center and then a second entrance into the Convention Center. We’ve been given access, finally, to the bottom floor of the convention center so we can filter fans through that way. We’re also offering ADA entrances.”

Here’s who I would like to bump into in line at Haven Brothers: Elvira, Tom Felton, Kiefer Sutherland, Dee Snider, and Creed Bratton.

Not so much . . . Randy Quaid, Meat Loaf.

Events will be held in the RI Convention Center and The Dunk. You are advised to buy your tickets early.

Friday — 3pm to 9pm

Saturday — 10am to 7pm

Sunday — 10am to 5pm

This image of the Batman TV show by artist Greg Krivac includes Julie Newmar my favorite Catwoman. He will presumably have prints for sale.
