Historic Map Night — State Archives

(4.9) Join Secretary of State Nellie M. Gorbea downtown at the State Archives for Historic Map Night.

The Rhode Island State Archives has a vast collection of maps, most of which are too large to be shown in our exhibition cases. Join us for this one-night-only display of historic maps related to the Waterways exhibition.

Then go out to eat. Lots of choices along this stretch of Westminster.

This map comes from the Rhode Island History page which includes fun facts.

The metal from which the Independent Man atop the Rhode Island State House was cast came from the breaking up of a statue of Simon Bolivar, which once stood in New York’s Central Park.

4:30pm to 7pm, Tuesday, April 9, RI State Archives, 337 Westminster Street, (directions)
