Urban Agriculture Kick Off — Four Sites

(4.13) This gorgeous pile of black gold awaits members of the Southside Community Land Trust (SCLT) who visit the Joslin Park Community Garden, or any one of the four participating gardens listed below. Composting creates food for your garden and keeps yard waste and dinner scraps out of the landfill. But everyone is invited to show up and share in this mini-expo whether you need compost or not. The Neighborhood Urban Agricultural Kick Off takes place at four locations around the city.

This free event features experts at each site to answer questions about organic growing and how to maximize your yield from small, urban plots, backyard gardens and containers. You can pick up free non-GMO, organic and heirloom seeds, plus low-cost, locally made organic fertilizer. Finally, SCLT members and anyone who joins or renews at UAKO can bring home 50 gallons of high-quality, organic compost (just show your membership card). Please bring large, plastic containers to cart away your compost (we’ll have paper yard waste bags on hand for those without them).
