An annual gathering recognizing the life and unique literary contributions of Mr. Lovecraft. He was an avid, amateur astronomer This event, a Providence tradition, will be open and free to the public. Weather permitting, on event day a specially adapted telescope will be set on the front lawn of Ladd Observatory, to permit visitors a daytime, telescopic viewing of the Moon.
Following the ceremony, hosted by Carl L. Johnson, attendees are invited to reconvene at the author’s grave in Swan Point Cemetery. (The ProJo interviewed Johnson a few years ago. Pretty sure this is not Johnson in this photo.)
